Teacher support in the time of Covid -19

What are DKG Alaska chapters doing?

Beta Chapter

Raising Funds for teachers with an auction

DKG-Alaska Beta Educational Scholarship Foundation sponsored an online auction to raise funds earmarked for showing support, encouragement and appreciation to FNSB faculty as they chart new territory in teaching and learning during the present day COVID-19 environment. The auction netted over $1,000 to fund this project.

Adopting Schools

17 Beta members have adopted 16 schools.
           Activities have included:
                     positive picketing
goodies for the staff room, eg. bowls of fruit,
                     homemade cookies, donuts, muffins, etc

The U Park First Monday Positive Picketing
took place, at minus 18 degrees, 7:00-7:40am,  and I was one of 8 people greeting staff with music, signs & cheers. I supplied 4 Starbucks door prizes with notes of support& appreciation from DKG.  TX. Linda

I did have nifty Dove candy bars and gave each staff member a TGIF greeting and bar. Since it was out of the ordinary, they were smilingly appreciative.  Goes to show that small things are meaningful, when they are so overwhelmed on a daily basis.
