Strategic Action Plan for Renewal
Approved April 13, 2013
I. Membership goals-
1. Broaden the membership base-
Invite educators representing varying cultures, educational disciplines, ages, and experiences to join.
2. Retain members-
Maintain current membership levels across the membership base
3. Encourage active membership-
Use new orientation materials with all prospective members
Use re-orientation materials from the International website with all current members
4. Continue the recognition of long-term members (25 years and up)-
II. Communication/Publication Goals-
1. Continue to provide information through the “Nuggets”-
2. Continue to provide information through the state website and through electronic information from the state president to chapter presidents-
3. Continue to publish the State directory on the State website with secure access only-
4. Utilize Go-to-Meeting and other technologies to facilitate communication with the State Executive Board and State committees-
III. Marketing (formerly Public Relations) Goal-
1. Continue publicizing the achievements and activities of the Society and its members in the local media and send copies to the Nuggets editor, State President, State
Webmaster, and State Historian-
IV. Program/Projects & Educational Services Goal-
1. Draft the Mission Statement of the State Literacy Project-
V. Society Structure Goal-
1. Become familiar with Society structure as established in the International documents-
Review the new International Constitution and Standing Rules
Review and update the Beta Gamma State Constitution, Standing Rules, and Committee Structure
VI. Society Purpose Goal-
1. Maintain an awareness of Society purposes through chapter programs, ceremonies, and activities-
